Effective Worship can be a "AVery" challenging thing.

Our Worship Team has many talented folks. Our Drummer is steady - both playing and attending (rehearsal and services). Our vocalist are talented, dedicated and willing to learn any vocal part for the good of the team. Our bass player has many irons in the fire - with 3 small children, a full time profession, little league coach and so on! Yet our MVP as I call them, is our AV/Media team. We are all so comfortable when they are there... behind the computers... manning to sound board. Knowing our words will be there, knowing our sound will be as good as possible, and knowing they are capable if anything goes wrong. We have 2 AV/Media guys... and they are the most important aspect of the team IMO.

They must learn new software, new sound technology, be flexible and make decisions on the fly. OH, and be up to date on all streaming issues and camera remotes. The vast majority are all volunteers (or might as well be)... AND the only time they are noticed is when something goes wrong! So... never take your AV/Media team for granted. Let them know how important they are in presenting effective worship. Include them in all your meetings and cookouts! Though they are not on stage... they are responsible for making what's on the stage look and sound presentable (that can sometimes be a small miracle!) If you, as worship leader, convey this often, the entire team will come to recognize it as well. Your AV/Media team will go above and beyond - first because they want to serve, but also because they will realize what an important role they play in presenting effective, spirit filled worship!
